Hello!

I think the title is a good summary!

I have a region on my design which has a interference fit bush, which I modelled with RBE2.

The first question is: is it accurate to model it that way?
Secondly, by running a non linear static, would having a RBE2 create inconsistent results? I remember that RBE2 are not updated in the stiffness matrix for SOL106 in Nastran. Is it true?

Many thanks for your support all!

Dear Pat,
If you plan to run a NonLinear analysis using NX NASTRAN (SOL106) then better forget the use of RBE2 elements, see the limitations:
• Rigid body elements (RBEi, RBAR, RROD entries, etc.) do not rotate in geometric nonlinear analysis.

To model interference fit, better define explicitely the contact interference and solve as a contact problem using linear static solver of NX NASTRAN (SOL101), take a look to my BLOG in the following address:

Best regards,
Blas.
