Hi,

I have a few questions about Microsoft Project that I have not yet been able to figure out:

1. I'd like to set up a task with a 24hr calendar so that it CAN be worked on 24hrs a day 7 days a week, but if I assign a resource that can only work 10hrs a day 5 days a week to it, I'd like the task to change duration accordingly (spanning weekends and so on). Is there a way to do this without changing the task calendar to coincide with the assigned resource itself?

2. Also, is there a way to virtually make a task fixed duration and fixed work, so that it will not change length but will require a certain amount of work (and then also alert you if there is not enough resources assigned) ?

3. I'd also like to have a task require both a certain equipment resource and worker resource simultaneously at certain times and only one of the two at other times (i.e. several hours on a certain machine while a worker sets it up and then several days on the machine regardless of if the worker is there to operate it).

Thanks,

David

Hallo MS Project Forum members,

I have a question regarding the usage of Export / Import XML files into MS Project 2003.

I plan to write a client application which could import a MS Project file (Importable XML File) into MS Project ( without opening the MS Project 2003 application).

A manual way of reimporting an exported MS Project File is possible. i wanted this to be done by the client application.

shall be thankful for any ideas or suggestions.
