Hi,
I have a thread I am trying to identify on a part I need to have machined.
I have searched unsecessfully through Machinery's Handbook for it, however I found an online reference here and here that is pretty close
Here is what I've got:
External Thread Major Diameter (OD) = 38.6mm (digital caliper measurement)
Internal Therad Minor Diameter (ID) = 38.1mm (digital caliper measurement)
Thread Pitch (peak to peak as measured on the external thread) = 1mm (optical comparator measurement and thread gauge)
No Taper.
This thread secures the cap on a low pressure air piston/cylinder which was manufactured in Slovenia.
My best guess is that this is an ISO Metric 39 x 1.0 6g or 4g6g... however it doesn't quite fall within those specifications.
I will test machine a sample thread before machining the final part, but I'm trying to determine the best place to start.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
