Metallic Aggregate Topping

I have a project where roll-off garbage containers will be placed and recovered at a public convenience center station. The plans call for 2" of metallic aggregate topping to serve as a wear surface for the steel wheels on the roll-off containers. The remainder of the surface is 6" standard concrete and the 2" metallic aggregate is inlaid into the 6" slab. Can anyone shed some light on what this may consist of and a suggested specification?

You might be better served by going to a thicker slab and broadcasting a metallic hardener. You have to be careful that the finishing is properly executed else there can be some delamination.

A bonded topping using an epoxy type binder also works well. You might check with local concrete contractors and see what they would normally do.
