I HAVE ACCESS TO A VAST QUANTITY OF STAINLESS STEEL AND EXOTIC ALLOYS BUT ALL LISTINGS ARE IN AMS CLASIFICATION AND I WOULD LIKE TO CONVERT THEM TO AISI IF POSSIBLE. COULD ANYONE POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION TO OBTAIN A CONVERSION CHART

On the title block of each AMS spec-sheet is the UNS number of the alloy [usually lwr rt corner]. NOTE: an alloy family "code-letter" preceedes a 5-digit number which then forms the "UNS number".

Get a copy of SAE HS-1086 "metals and alloys in the unified numbering system". Find the UNS Number in this document. The AMS-Spec will be listed, as will all other correlating specs and ID nomenclature... such as the AISI number.
