Hi,
I am for the first time in contact with this software because i need to mesh some elements originaly designed in CATIA. I saved them as a .STP file.Every time I opened them and tried to do meshing i got the same message which says that part (or its elements) are self intersectied or too large.
Please let me know what should I do?

Does Nastran can work only with solids or it can mesh and surfaces?

Thanks
Naki

Naki,

It seems your geometry is not correct.. your step file is not closed to perform solid meshing or it it is, some surfaces might be twisted enough not to perfom meshing.

A good way is to look at your specification tree... if you have nothing under partbody but a lot under open body, you might need to heal your geometry.

Hope this helps
