Can mechanical joints be used above ground on ductile iron (8")? If not is there any other option to welding flanges?

Recommended for you

Use a restrained joint system such as megalug or romagrip
I avoid welding at all costs on ductile
If you need flanges, factory fabricated screwed on flanges are the way to go, and were a field fit is needed use a megaflange

What is the most common way to thread ductile pipe such as this?
Do you know where such a machine can be bought?
 
It is done by the manufacture in the shop. You can not do it in the field.
