We would like to do an FEA analysis on a simple foam impact test.

The supplier has provided us with the following properties:

Polyurethane

* Density

* Indentation Load Deflection
(25% ILD @ 4")

* Tensile Strength

* Tear (lbs per inch)

* Elongation

Polyethylene

* Compressive Strength

* Compression Set

* Compression Creep

* Tensile Strength

* Tear Resistance (lb per inch)

* Density

* Cell Size

We need to determine:

For P.U.:

* Density (given)

* Shear Modulus

* Alpha

* Poisson's Ratio

For P.E.:

* Density (given)

* Damping (s)

* Mu

* Alpha

* Beta

Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

What do you hope to determine by this instead of just doing the test on the actual material? When it comes to impact no amount of modeling will be good enough. You'll have to do the impact tests on the real part anyway.

There is not any memory with less satisfaction than the memory of some temptation we resisted.
