Hi,

I'm looking for the costs of materials which will be used for tanks. The materials are SS304, Carbon steel, Aluminum, Fiber reinforced plastic and pyrex plexiglass. Can anyone guide me about these prices or where I can find the unit material costs as well as the cost of making vessels from these materials.

Thanks

hi doorf,
you can obtain the cost of these materials from Coulson& Richardson's-chemical engineering volume 6.
I have the cost in 1992,but i think the cost vary from that day .
304 1600bound/tonne
carbon steel 300 bound/tonne
aluminium 900 bound/tonne

Chem-Tainer Plastic Tanks has an online catalog with prices.
Polyethylene tanks, mostly. PE to 15000 Gal, XPE to 6800 Gal. Some double-wall tanks & secondary containment, too.

Hi Kenvlach,

Thanks for youe reference , that was very helpful. Can you please tell me about the maximum temperature limitations for FRP tanks? This is important as in case of our product the temp. inside the vessel can be quite high.
