Has anyone encountered a situation where masonry support is required at the concrete foundation wall at grade? The foundation wall is off by 2", so the contractor is recommending galvanized angle. But our concerns are corrosion of angle. Brick ledge would be prohibitve, mason is already a few courses up using temporary support.

We do this constantly, but often actually have it installed with a gap between the angle and foundation wall to allow insulation to run behind. This is accomplished with back-to-back steel angles at a regular spacing. This is to allow the wall insulation and the foundation insulation to align.
