Load Factors for Design of a Trailer Frame

Does anyone have an idea about what would be a suitable vertical load factor for the design of a trailer?

Think about concentrating the load of the frame weight where it connects to the main horizontal beams. If that makes sense...As in there are specs for the steel your working with lbs/ft etc. multiply that times length and concentrate at geometric center of crossbeams in relation the the main frame rails.. I second the link provided by AnotherOneMore..Hope I didn't confuse you :)
 
I ended up using a 10g vertical load factor (the acceleration from what I assumed would be a really bad bump in the road).

The load distribution was easy to calculate.

This load factor resulted in elastic deformation only.

I was just curious if there were any published standards regarding load factors for trailers....

was that 10g vertical load factor a gues or did you base that on something?

It is just a guess based on the aviation forward crash load factor of 9g + 1 for luck.

Is this trailer for aircraft use?
If it is beware of flexing loads at the towbar/ gooseneck attach points.
