Hello All,
I am wondering if there is a way for a standard user to see who is currently using licenses. We currently have more users than licenses and are beginning to run into users hoarding a license first thing in the morning, keeping NX up all day, etc, etc. I want to be able to give the user the ability to see who has a license out and contact them directly for sharing purposes. I am a lifer in UG/NX and I get slightly ruffled when people say "But in Solidworks I can do this...", but here I go! We recently added Solidworks (hence a moratorium on new NX licenses) and have already experienced hitting the max users on that as well. But, the message that comes up allows you to see who else currently has a license open. A useful feature I didn't know I would want until seeing it.

Any ideas?

Kevin

The FlexNet license management software has a status command that will show you all the licenses and who has them checked out. Since each company implements the use of FlexNet in their products slightly differently, you will need to find out how Siemens has implemented it in NX.
Look on the server that has your FlexNet license software and see if there is a file with 'status' in its name.

See my post in : -the third post from the top AND the correction that Bleakerposted, the content should look like this:

cd C:\siemens\UGSLicensing
lmutil lmstat -c 28000@servername -A > c:\temp\licenses_in_use.txt
notepad c:\temp\licenses_in_use.txt
del c:\temp\licenses_in_use.txt
REM pause
