Hi, thanks for starting this forum! i'm just starting to learn AERSCREEN and was wondering if anyone can recommend training materials other than the EPA manuals for AERMOD, MAKEMET, BPIPPRM and AERMAP available online?

Also, can I ask about user's opinions on the different AERSCREEN windows interfaces that are available? The only experience I have is with Lake's ScreenView.

Hi Peter:

There are probably several online and in-person training sessions available for AERSCREEN. I searched the internet for "AERSCREEN training" and there are several available although I can't personally reccomend any of them because I have not taken them. An introductory course on the fundementals of dispersion modeling or even a course on AERMOD would also help. AERSCREEN is nothing more than a simplified version of AERMOD so if you know the basics of AERMOD, AERSCREEN should be easy. Feel free to ask questions in here as well; most of my dispersion model training was from asking quesitons and using the software.

I can't offer any opinions on the different Graphical User Interfaces for AERSCREEN. I use Lakes software for AERMOD and like it a lot. Any time I have ever needed to run AERSCREEN, I have just used the EPA DOS version. Honestly, I rarely use AERSCREEN because it is so restrictive and severly overpredicts if you have more than one source or have a complicated site layout.
