laser gas consumption

Got a question? I have a Trumpf 3020 and in its tehnical book says that for laser gas it requires He purity 4,6 estimated consumption 13 l/h .

My question is this what does it mean by 13 l/h? because for 200 working hours i consume like 50 litres.

This is also the case for N2,C02 - for laser gas ?

Any help would be apreciated.

Hi, bogdanhu!

I am just a little bit surprised how could you perform absolut measurement of your gas consumption?

50 / 200 = 0.4 litre of He per hour does not sounds for me realistic. Trumpf's gas mixer is already pre-set for 11-14 l/h, and if it somehow supplies less Helium you will get error by resonator pressure, or by turbine current, or by low power output.

The fact that you was able to run 4030 with no problem means, that He is set for 13 l/h and it is O.K.

Maybe the way you calculate gas consumption is not very correct?

The standard gas bottle consists about 8100 litres of Helium, 8400 litres of Nitrogen and 1700 litres of Carbon Dioxide.

Trumpf's mix proportion 11:6:1, so you may estimate consumption of He as one bottle in the month, H2 - one bottle in two month, and CO2 - 2 bottles in the year.
