can anyone help me please. I am starting a project that will be done in Intools and i would love some help in the correct steps to take.
I will have field instruments, field jct. box, marshalling rack, modicon plc, signal isolators, relays, 24vdc power.
What do I need to create first? I have an instrument database to work off but now i need to create loop diagrams with all components and wiring connected.

Thanks

Recommended for you

1) First start creating loop typicals, so that you and the other intools designers have an overview how to build the variation of loops (IS, NIS, Powered, non -powered etc.).
When the variation in loops is few no typicals are required.
2) When no blockdiagrams are made create them to have an overview and to have the possiblitie to delegate work to other INtools users e.g. one user creates all the cables and the other create all the Junction boxes, apparatus etc. at the same time.
3) You are using a marshalling rack. When using crosswring you can work from both sides e.g From field to MR and from PLC to MR. When signals reached the MR you can crosswire automatic.
4)For the PLC side: First assign the I/O, then connect the cabling.
4) From field side:, start creating the device panels using the settings in the profile option (see Instrument types)
connect the single cable to the JB, etc. etc. till MR.

Hope this helps
