Greetings!

I am starting to get familiar with Solid Edge. I client of mine sent me a part file, and the part shows up in a particular color, and is semi-transparent. I want to interogate the properties of the part, to find out exactly what color it is, and how much transparency is applied to it. I am familiar with the "Part Painter" feature, and have played with the styles. But how can I select the part, and have the program tell me what color/style is applied to the part?

You can't select the part and interogate the face style properties like you do in the assembly module.
Here in part, you have to open "Style" in "Format" menu, then in "Style type:" select "Faces Styles" and in "List:" select "Styles in use", dose styles listed are the styles that the futures use. If you want to create your own style click on "New..." and then apply it with the part painter command, now your own new style will be listed there.
