International Bolting Standards

Does anyone know how to cross reference American bolts to International Bolts? Is there a chart for this? Example:

USA
AISI/SAE
304

Germany
DIN/W.-Nr
X5CrNi 18 9/1.4301

What about the UK, France, Spain, Sweden, and Japan? What standards do they use? If I needed a 304 SS bolt, what would they call it in other countries?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is no single reference (chart) that will provide what you want. Are you only interested in materials? Chemistry and mechanical properties? Obviously UN and M threads have different geometry, so total equivalence isn't an option.

The best thing to do is to use ISO standards, since they are used by all of the countries you mentioned. For your example (304), you could refer to Grade 2 in ISO 3506-1 Mechanical properties of corrosion-resistant stainless-steel fasteners -- Part 1: Bolts, screws and studs.

Thanks Cory. I am only interested in mechanical properties, mostly strength and hardness. You answered my question with the ISO standards.
