This is normally the space where people post something insightful.

1) Go to the main page for this Measurement and Control Instrumentation Forum.

Scan the titles for those threads that are most likely oil and gas related.

When you run out of threads, look at the bottom

where there are numerical buttons for previous pages of threads, access a previous page and do the same thing.

2) Google for oil and gas trade journals. Browse them for I&C related articles.

3) If you can find an ISA member, get them to let you browse ISA's site for copies of InTech, the monthly magazine and browse for oil & Gas related articles.

Is this for an interview?! If so, you would be better of applying for positions that you have the right amount of experience for, not making up scenarios.

Instrument technicians are generally trade qualified, which requires general trade practical skills in mechanical and electrical as well as the knowledge of the instruments, loops and processes. Being a graduate of some course will only get you an interview for a entry level position - apprenticeship or other form of trainee program. These people will not expect any experience of repairs made, they will be looking for aptitude.
