Installation Problems with Solid Edge 2D Drafting ST2: file not found

Hi !

I'm a new user here and have got problems in installing this software.

While the installation works on one PC, I get the following error on another one:

File 'C:\DOCUME~1\ADM-VET~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\_is45.tmp' can not be found. Make sure the file is on the target system or installed already. The filename itself changes with any attempt in installing the software.

This PC has been set up brandnew and has nothing installed but XP SP3 and .NET 2.0 SP1 while the other one is an older PC with lots of software on it.

Can anybody please help me on this ?

do you carry out the installation while logged-in as Admin,
user admin rights is not sufficient. Any virus protection
software active that might 'quarantine' those files? Also
the firewall can make trouble.

Hi donyoung !

I tried the installation as domain and as local administrator which made no difference.

However the problem is solved in the meantime.

Our automatic update tonight brought .NET 2.0 SP2 as well as .NET 3.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 to the computer and after rebooting the system the installation worked fine. Nothing else has been changed on this computer.

Obviously the .NET 2.0 version provided by Solid Edge is not sufficient to guarantee a succesful installation of Solid Edge.

Hi,

that's seems then to be a packing error with ST2/2D. The full version
installs .Net V3.5 SP1 automatically; so I did not mention this.
