Increasing coeff of friction on wet steel

I need to increase the coefficient of friction of wet steel on steel temporarily. I am looking at the application of a tackifier resin emulsion.

Have you looked at the substance known as 'sex wax' used by the surfing community? It allows them to gain some grip on a GRP surfboard, maybe it would work in your application?
