Impact of rigid - deformable bodies using ABAQUS

Hi. I am using solid elements to model the contact of a ball hitting a wall. I have defined the <explicit> selection in the element library (Mesh) with linear elements for the wall. IF the wall is supported on a steel frame where the steel frame has elastic properties, shall I choose the explicit selection from the element library for the steel frame or leave it as it is <standard>?

The analysis is dynamic explicit.
