Hi,

Our "keeper of the knowledge" regarding all things IT and microstation just left the company and my computer just received an operating system upgrade (good timing by management of course) which means I've had to re-install everything. We use Bentley Microstation/PowerDraft and I/RAS B; both have been installed on my computer but I'm unable to launch I/RAS B from the drafting program. I've tried the "key-in" method of using "mdl load IRASB" but it doesn't work. A message at the bottom of the screen comes up saying "unable to load irasb".

What am I missing in the setup? I know I/RAS is installed on my computer but it needs to be linked to PowerDraft somehow. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

calguy07,
Did you install PowerDraft first then I/RAS B?

What OS are you running now Windows 7, XP Pro, Novell?

What version of IRAS B and PowerDraft did you install? It looks like XM version is the latest version for IRAS B and will not run on a V8i version of PowerDraft.

Sorry I have more questions then answers for you at this point.

Bob,

1. I showed up one day and it was installed already. Apparently the contract IT guy we used did it so I'm not sure which one was installed first.

2. Windows 7

3. Powerdraft/Microstation V8 2004 Edition and I/RAS B also 2004 Edition

Thanks.

calguy07,
Windows 7 huh. Will I/RAS B run on any other computer with the same setup?

My guess is the I/RAS B 2004 Edition is not certified on your OS. Check the read me file to find out for sure.

I am not sure if there is a work around. I am going to have you go to this site and maybe you can get some more advice from current users.

Sorry I haven't use I/RAS B in a number of years.

HTH,
Bob Mecham
