How to represent traffic loads in design of soil slopes ? 2

Is there a convention way on how to include traffic loads into the design of an embankment slope in slope stability analyses ?

What kind of loading (depending on the car/truck load used for the design) should be applied, and how ?
a. Traffic load is a transient load, and how to convert the load into a static load in slope stability cases ?
b. How to distribute the load over the crest of the embankment ? will it be as point load, as uniform load over a distance or others ?

It is a generally accepted method in the UK to apply a surcharge load at ground level of 10kN/sqm in any areas which may carry construction plant. This is deemed to include concrete wagons, deliveries, site dumpers etc. It encompasses all static and transient loads. It does NOT include for crane loads.

If you have a highway or public road then this surcharge increased to 20kN/sqm and is applied at the appropriate distance from the top of the slope and is applied over the width of the carriageway plus the verges.

The Florida DOT and FHWA use a uniform surcharge loading of 250 psf to simulate traffic loading from trucks, automobiles, etc. that would operate on an interstate highway.
