My aim is to design a vtg reg ckt based on the up(8085).The ckt consists of a trasformer which is provided with tappings. At each tapping a thyristor is being provided which are at different vtg levels. Now when the o/p vtg is less than the reqd vtg, a prgm is written in such a way that the reqd thyristor is on.How do i proceed once we obtain o/p from the 8085up.

What do you want to power with the regulated VTG? How much
is the line VTG & variation, load and its variation and
how much VTG variation can you tolerate? <nbucska@pcperipherals.com>

Hi, this is not a good idea, transformers do not like asymetric current, and you have to be careful not to have more than 1 tap conducting at once or you end up with a shorted turn condition.
