I'll perform a stress relaxation experiment by DMA to obtain the relaxation modulus and the relaxation spectrum. The samples are some kinds of polystyrene (PS), Tg is around 105 oC. The instrument is TA Q800 DMA.
Question:
Should I set the test temperature near Tg so that it can be deformed easily and takes shorter time?
Should it be taken at its Linear Viscoelastic Region?
I know someone did this stress relaxation experiment by tension mode, compression mode and dual cantilever bending mode, are these results the same?
I want to get the relaxation spectrum, do I need to perform the test at several different temperatures?
Any advises will be appreciated. Thanks a lot!
