I have a continuous water feed which equals my wash water filtrate.

How many turnovers per hour assuming eductor mixing?

What Chemscale? assuming mechanical

Your posting is virtually incomprehensible to me. The subject refers to caustic wash and the body of your post only mentions water. Washing caustic with water or vice versa doesn't make sense because caustic is very soluble in water. Please re-phrase your question and use as many sentences as it takes to really explain what you are trying to do ... we have the space.

Washing, as in reducing the sodium molarity of a caustic solution by adding water at a continuous rate until the sodium molarity reaches a target concentration.


Vessel is continuously stirred and has an initial sodium molarity. The tank solution is circulated through a filter and the filtrate flow rate is equal to the rate of water being added to the sodium solution in the tank. The liquid volume in the tank never changes.

In order to minimize the amount of water added to reduce the molarity, the rate at which water is added must be equal to the rate of filtrate flow.

My question has to do with the required amount of mixing since it is assumed that the tank contents are the same molarity.
