How do I find a structural engineer? Nothing in the 'Yellow Pages'

Greetings,
After looking through the postings here I figure I need help with a project I am contemplating. I would like to 'finish'my basement and I have a post supporting a I-Beam about 1/3 of the distance into the space. I would guess that it would not be a good idea just to take it out. After all, it only supports the first floor wall that supports the second floor. :) I did look through the local 'Yellow Pages' but nothing there on structual engineers. Any guidance on finding someone good? What certifications should I be looking for? No specific names please; just guidance on how to find someone. Thank you in advance.
