Hi guys,

Am new to Nastran software, am working on fea of composite laminates. Kindly what are the values needed for G11,G12,G13,G22,G23,G33 in MAT 2. The given values are E1,E2,G12 and v12. Am using PCOMP to describe the material properties.

Before you embark on FE analysis of composite structures you must first have a good grounding in the theory of composite laminates. The materials parameters you give are the elastic properties of specific lay-ups, depending on the type of fibre, the plies, the resin and other factors. Then, of course, a working knowledge of finite element theory in solid mechanics.
