H2S in Crude Oil

I'm looking for information on our how H2S is removed from crude oil at the loading ports. I've heard the terms "degassed" but I would like to know the mechanism. Also, how easily does H2S move from liquid phase(dissolved) to vapor phase.

When we stabilized the crude oil to reduce its vapor pressure to the allowable limits prior to loading it on ships, we could also stabilize to a deeper depth and reduce the H2S to a few ppm when running crudes with more H2S.

All we used in Saudi Arabia was an absorber column (no condenser) with a fired reboiler. Crude was fed to the top tray and stabilized crude came off the bottom with a target tray temperature being maintained. Likely not the most energy efficient arrangement but that wasn't a major issue there. I don't remember the number of trays, it wasn't that many, 10 to 20 perhaps?
