Grand union canal + settlement

Hi there,

I am doing a research project and I am looking for a cross-section as well as a long section of the Grand union canal section near Hayes in London. In fact any relevent information concerning its construction would be helpfull.

Also, for the tunnel engineers out there, I am trying to establish what the critical issues are when tunnelling alongside such a structure (planning permission, settlement...etc).
