Generic Drawing using configurations

Hello. I have looked through the old posts and can't find an answer to this question even though it seems a pretty simple request. I have a simple part. The part is a rectangular bar. The bar has 10 configurations, each of which is different only in length. In a job I could use anywhere between 1 and 10 of these configurations of the same part.
Ideally I would like to have a generic drawing of these parts. Is there anyway to do this. I need one drawing somehow pulling in the 'length' dimension from all the configurations of the same part in a table/Bom or such. Then I would just dimension the generic drawings with a "L" dimensions. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you need a drawing with a design table to define the specific configurations (dimension variables). The drawing dims are basically labeled "A", "B", "C", etc and then you have a table showing the different dimensions available for "A", "B", "C", etc. The help file has a little info about this. Scott Baugh has some examples on his website also.

If it's only a bar - cut to a specific length - why would you even need a drawing to detail it?
Couldn't you just purchase it from BOM data? (ex: BAR; 0.25 x 2.00 x 12.00)
Maybe you over-simplified your question...
