Three references that come to mind which discuss the subject are written by the following authors: Braja das, Joseph Bowles, and Peck, Hansen and Thournbun. Another which comes to mind is a book by Robert Ratay entitled Temporary Structures in Construction. This book details the procedures for building cofferdams and working in the water.
