Hi,
I'm designing a SS bolted flange for agitator support on the top head of the vessel , this flat flange will be simply welded to top head,it has 8.5 in OD, 4.5in ID, 1 in Thk, and 6 Bolt hole of 9/16 in dia. with 6.5 in Bolt circle dia.
2 questions:
1- can I use plate material for this not hubbed ,flat flange (SA-240),( I HOPE TO BE ABLE TO NOT USE FORGING MATERIAL WITCH IS NOT EASLY AVAILEBALE)
2- How can I calculate this conform to ASME code sect.IIIV div.1
Thanks for your help.
Laurent.
