Flange Plate Moment Connection

I have a bolted flange plate moment connection that I am trying to analyze. I am using the AISC design guide 4 to check the end plate thickness requirements.

As shown in the attached sketch, my end plate does not extend above the beam flange and includes 4 bolts.

I am trying to apply equation 3.10 pg 28 of design guide 4.

My questions are these:

1.) Does the Yp end plate calculation apply if the end plate does extend above my beam flange?

2.) Would h0 from table 3.1 be "0" in the Yp calculation (pg 32)?

FWIW, this type of connection is refered to as an End Plate moment connection... at least here in the US. A Bolted Flange Plate connection is a totally different type of connection.... So, you might want to be careful with your terminology.

I agree with Connectegr. This type of connection is covered nicely in DG 16. It uses basically the same procedures as DG-4. However, DG16 extends the theory into a wider range of bolt patterns and end plate configurations.
