I am having trouble with filtration of a sample stream to be sent to an X-Ray and a water analysers. Problem is the plugging of primary filter. We need to change filter much to often.

The system is the folowing : Fast loop 1/2" witch main stream return to the process and filtrate goes to a pressure regulator and a secondary filter before going to the analyser.

The stream is a slurry of acid solvent and 2% solids size of 15 microns(95%) to 50 micron(5%).

Do you know a good affordable self cleaning primary filter to filtrate about 5 liters/min.

Note: when the slurry is not mooving, it tend to aglomerate together and plug every thing.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I am confused. Why would you need 5l/min for analysis ?

What are the acid and the solids and what kind of tests are performed ?

By the way, I would post this on the chemical forum... <nbucska@pcperipherals.com>

Suggestion: This appears to be more on mechanical or process engineers/designer side than electrical/electronics as far as the filter is concern. It may be a good idea to contact the manufacturer or contractor to review the process including filters.
