Hello!
I have two questions, but first off I am running FEMAP v11.1.0 64-bit with NEi Nastran Solver. I am running a static linear analysis. Now, my first question is about post-processing in Femap
1) I am trying to determine which value of Von Mises stress to use in my report. I have two values, one is from clicking F5, and under "Contour Style", choosing the Criteria radio button, from what I have seen this shows elemental stresses; for example I am getting a value of 96 ksi in the area of interest. The other value is acquired by clicking the Contour radio button and then clicking F6 -> PostProcessing -> Contour/Criteria Style, and choosing Max Only . For this second value I tend to always get a higher value, example in my current model the stress is 142 ksi. Can someone help explain the difference? Thanks.
2) My model uses connections and I am uncertain of the connection properties to use. See figure for visualization - so for the side of the "buttons" I am using an unsymmetrical contact with MAXAD set as automatic, and the bottom of the "buttons" I am using a bi-directional slide connection property. Is this correct?
Thanks
