We have not run a solution and precipitation cycle on 718 in some time and our program carried out an extra hour at the higher end of the precipitation cycle.
the AMS 6443 states that it gets 8 hours at 1325-1400, then cooled down to 1150-1200 (~1.5hrs) then held there for 8 hours. our cycle got an extra hour at the higher precipitation temperature. should total to approx 18hrs . we re-ran the load with the adjusted cycle even though the hardness was in our specified range just for safety measures.
Would the extra hour have greatly effected the size and quantity of precipitates in the 718?
