Hello everyone,
I am new to the simplified envelope method for low-rise buildings with simple diaphragms (ASCE 7-16, Section 28.4). I am trying to understand how the simplified design wind pressures at 30 ft that are shown in Fig. 28.5-1 are computed. I tried calculating some of the values myself, but have not been able to match a value in the table. Can someone explain or provide a sample calculation for how the values in Fig. 28.5-1 are computed. I tried using Eq. 27.3-1 and Eq. 28.3-1, but to no avail.
Eq. 27.3-1: qh[GCpf - GCpi]
Eq. 28.3-1: qGCp - qi(GCpi)
