Hi guys,
I've been using the latest version of Etabs 2013. One of the new function is the beam rebar detailing. Though it only generates beam schedule, it was good enough for the drafter to come out with the beam details. Recently I've used it for the design of transfer beam using BS8110:97).
I have problem understanding the result for shear i.e. "99-T12@125mm Type B (1.5)" at zone A for an intermediate continuous span (span length 6.8m). I knew '99' is the total number of shear link but 99x 125mm spacing would be 12.375m. How can that be possible when my span length is just 6.8m?
Also, may I know what is type A, B and even type C shear link are?
I can't find any explanation in the software help menu and there are no manual showing the example of detailing.
Can any expert out there help on these questions?
Thanks.
