Are reference items, such as drawing standards required to appear on a parts list?

Referenced standards such as ASME Y14.5 (dwg standards) should be noted on the drawing, either in the title block or in the notes, but not in the PL. The PL should only be used for the materials that make up the part.

About the only reference I know that is required is when dealing with GD&T. You should publish to what standard the GD&T being used on the drawing conforms to.

Have you read faq731-376 to make the best use of Eng-Tips Forums?

When I have created dwgs and PL's for military programs, mtl & process specs and drafting standards all are required on all docs. Other than military, only as ewh suggested. Process specs should be only on some type of Job Traveler.
