Hi, I`m looking to find some new software to help on the electrical dimensions issues that are the main concerns during a tight schedule projects.
On a ideal project, electric design starts after the main mechanical project detailing is done, I mean, all the motors are defined, also the position of those, the same for auxiliary loads and maintenance movements so that we are able to calculate the power leads and define the cable trays and all the stuff related on that, on the real world we have to start the project with the mechanical engineering, this will cause to assume a large amount of critical information in order to go ahead and attend the schedule.
Obviously this way of operation doesn't works and we enter on a loop of re-work trying to save all that you already design and draw.
I was looking for new design software and I found the PDMS Electrical, it looks like a graphic excel spread sheet where you can maintain updated all the critical information like cables sizes, number of circuits and its lengths, so that, if you have to do a major change like change a power rate of a load or change its position, all the changes on drawings and bill of material also change in few minutes.
If somebody have experience with PDMS, please give me your advise and comments
