Anyone have any calculation examples or suggestions for checking a guard post with a plate welded to the bottom and embedded into concrete?

Yes, Thanks. But wondering how much the plate at the bottom adds to the concrete bearing strength.

A sketch might be in order then. Ostensibly, the plate just increases the area that applies to the concrete breakout failure modes.

Both, But mainly IBC for this case.

Seems the plate must push down on the concrete on one side and push up on the concrete on the other side giving an additional resisting moment couple.
