Following some previous threads,on sharing rare + historical material on geotech eng, I would also suggest sharing in some kind of "e-library" (in SRE's website) technical papers of particular relevance (such as the one on settlements by Fox scanned by Focht3, which I think anyone of you has downloaded, by now).
In other words: if you come across some tech paper (recent or less recent) which you believe should be read, I would signal it to the group, and add it up to the available material. Everyone of us kind of specializes in some field and probably is not able to keep updated in everything.
E-papers might be simply downloaded and added as they are, traditional papers should be scanned before. With some time and patience, we may end up with a valuable set of material.
I don't know if copyright considerations are relevant in this context (close group, material not reachable from the public and limited circulation...)

In thinking of Mccoy's last comment in eric1037's Housel thread, I knew that there was some disagreement of Terzaghi's theory by Schofield - who, with Wroth, developed the Wet Clay - later the CamClay - models. In searching some past downloads, I got directed to the following. Be surprised!

Pretty good, BigH,
"critical state soil mechanics" on the web. and with a story behind.
The Cam-clay model is one of those theories you study for exams, but the practical application at a non-academical level are doubtful (actually, I never even tried).
I remember there was one thread on the main forum, someone (is he in this group as well?) trying to apply this model, it would be interesting to know wether the attempt was eventually successful or aborted.
