I've seen at another division they had plotter setup to export a drawing file to dxf. Our customer contract specify we need to provide autocad dxf files for all drawings. Unfortunately the person whom setup this plot is no longer with the company. Any help with this would be great. I do see the option to plot to pdf and can setup physical plotters. In the past our division has been using a journal file to accomplish this task. We are asked to provide the same results in both divisions. Also the journal file sometimes gives poor results. Items are not up to date or dimension/labels are disjointed. Appreciate any help on this topic. We are currently using NX 8 but switching soon to NX 10.

Thanks

The plot configuration is stored in the folder pointed by the variable UGII_SDI_SERVER_CFG_DIR

Do you have access to the other division's plot configuration folder?

One idea that comes to my mind is that they are creating a cgm file, and then converting it to DXF in a batch file.

Analyzing the other division plot configuration could show how they are doing it.

As Apekas says, the easiest option would be to copy the setup from the other division.
If you have access to that system, you can open the plot setup and "reverse engineer".

there is a risk that the dxf plotter requires a license.

Tomas
