Looking around job postings in the ENERGY/financial analyst, traders, etc. This appears to be a cool field where you need both an understanding of some EE but also the ability to accurately model and predict energy/financial markets, using tools like MATLAB, PSS/E, C++, etc.
I'm wondering if any of you here on this forum work in this field. It seems like there is some real demand for these sorts of positions but honestly I don't see a whole lot of people on here (or know where they would be posting) about this field. Maybe it is considered more of simply a quant analyst more than an engineer. But from job descriptions these people are performing many of the same functions as an engineer (reducing cost, improving reliability, modeling systems etc).
So I want to find a few of you that are doing this and ask you more questions about the field. It might be something that I am interested in.
Thanks
