discretizing a shear wall

Ok, let's say I am modeling a concrete shear wall in STAAD. There is must some way to autodiscretize over a region instead of individually creating all of the nodes and elements manually. Can anyone direct me how to do this??

OK, I figured out that I need to use a surface element, but I cannot figure out how to apply supports along one side of a surface element. Can this be done???
