As an alternative to a digital pressure gauge compare it with the cost of a pressure transmitter with integral display, you might find it cheaper, especially if you need to measure differential pressure.
It's not mandatory to use the 4 - 20 mA signal if you don't need it, just supply it from any simple power supply 12 - 30 Volts.
