Hello

Anyone try to convert big dft file to dwg with se v20 ?
For ex. I have a dft file aprox 30MB i converted the file to Autocad but I can not open the file in autocad.
I did the same operation with the same drawind with se v18 and was working.

Please if you have some ideas give a replay.

I've not had any problems converting with V19 or V20.
Are your settings the same as when you converted in V18?
Have you tried a smaller file dft ?

yes smaller drawings are working ok but 30 Mb no.

You need to find out if it is an SE export problem or ACAD import problem?
Try copying the drawing and delete some of it - 1 or 2 views - (from the copy!!) then try converting.
Is it a multisheet drawing ?

I think the problem is the size of the drawing i try to convert also 20 Mb and is the same problem but with 3-4 mb drawings is working fine .
as i mentionate before with se 18 30 mb was no problem to convert to dwg

Different versions of ACAD are incompatible with each other. Make sure the Acad version is same as translation.

Try it on a free Dwg/Dxf viewer.

I don't think it can be versions as small files are working.
However, it's just as well to check, so what version are you saving as, and what is your ACad version ?
Yes, I think I have converted files of that size from V20.
Is it doing the conversion from SE, or is that the part that's failing ?
As Alan says, if you get the ACad file you can view it with the SE Viewer.

I had this same problem with SE20SP8. I tried converting a 30 Mb draft to dwg. It wouldn't open either. No luck here. We gave up and sent it in to Gtac. Had problems with smaller drafts, the blocks weren't converting to the dwg in SP8.

I'm converting to AutoCAD 2000 and I have 2008 looks like the same problem like fun4 said it creates the dwg file but I can not open it with AutoCAD , but with a dwg viewer is opening and looks ok , I need also to edit the dwg file not only to create it.Maybe with another sp will be ok .

i think is a problem with .ini file in se 20 with his own secad.ini file is not working but with another .ini file was working but with some small mistakes.
