Can anyone tell me what the design wind speed in City of Chicago? Based on IBC2006/ASCE07, the design wind speed is 90MPH but it seems a little too low. Chicago is known as "Windy City" and I guess the design wind speed should be 100 MPH at least. Can anyone verify this for me? THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the country, in the IBC code, is 90 mph, including Chicago.

The City of Chicago has it's own building code. Check that for windloads. Tall buildings require a wind study.
