I am using a 40 threads/inch threadmill to cut a revolved groove on a flat surface. Can anybody provide a simple way to make the cut without sketching all 40 grooves.

Do you mean similar to the grooves in a vinyl music record?

If the grooves are decreasing in diameter, you can use the Linear Sketch Step and Repeat function when creating the sketch.

Scott,

when I pattern one groove the diameters overlap creating a "8" shape instead of concentric grooves. Looking at the cross section, it would look like 20 thread pitches running radially along the surface. Basically like what coreBlimeylimey mentioned as decreasing in diameter.

Then if that's the case then I think you are going to have to make each of the sketches. A linear sketch and repeat only goes in a single direction. In SW06 (if you are working on the Front plane) it defaults using the X-Axis and Y-Axis for the direction and you can't change it.
